DVD RENTALS - GETTING THE MOST FOR YOUR MONEY

Whilst the features of DVD rental programs differ, there are some genral points that are common to most of the popular DVD rental services. Following are a few suggestions so you can avoid the pitfalls of previous users and also get the most for your monthly fee.

Keep titles in your queue - your wasting your money if you don't have enough titles in your queue. It's important that there is always enough in there so when you return titles they are able to send you more. If the availability of titles is displayed then manage the queue so those available are at the top of your list.

Select upcoming releases - some services allow you to select titles currently in theatres and so when they are released on DVD you are up the top of the queue. Unless everyone follows our advice!!

Rate the movies you have watched - this is your chance to become a movie critic whilst helping others at the same time. Be honest and polite. We all know the professional critics don't always get it right. Obviously the reviews aren't available on all services.

Read the reviews - whilst you won't agree with everyone, there might be some people that you find have similar tastes to you. That way you can look for their reviews and get some suggestions.

Change your membership plan - subject to the terms of your particular DVD rental service, you can change between plans as your viewing habits change. Perhaps you find you watch more movies during the winter so why not increase from the 3 at any time to 5 at anytime? And the reverse is also true and you can drop down to a lesser plan when you don't have much time. Rather than cancelling it means you still have something to watch should the opportunity arise and you don't lose your waiting queue like you would if you cancel. Moving between plans is subject to the terms and conditions and requires a bit of advance planning, however, it is well worth it.
