Movie Review
One for car Vin Diesel and Paul Walker fans. There's not much to it story wise, it's a bit predictable, but for me still a good watch. I wold prefer them to be driving European exotics (like Gone In 60 Seconds), but there's no discounting the fact that highly modified Japanese cars are popular. The film was based on a magazine article and if you watch the special features on the DVD you can read the original article.
Vin Diesel plays the leader of a gang of street racers and theives who hijack trucks by jumping from a car to a truck. Paul Walker is the other lead looking for get into the iilegal street racing scene.
There are some good car sequences and the technology used to film some of these was actually invented specifically for the film. Watch the special features on the DVD to find out more.
A few things to look out for include the subtle hand gesture Michelle Rodriguez gives when handing over the money for a race, the pizza guy a cameo by the director and no, you aren't imagining things with the overall colour of the film. They used filters to create the unique effect on purpose.
Quotes
I live my life a quarter mile at a time. Nothing else matters: not the mortgage, not the store, not my team and all their bullshit. For those ten seconds or less, I'm free.
I smell skanks. Why don't you girls just pack it up before I leave tread marks on your face.
The name's Hector. Got a last name too, but I can't pronounce it.
